The Sparrow was founded by husband and wife, Jordan and Jennifer Bumgarner, who, after teaching private lessons for several years out of both their home, students homes, and local studios, found their love for teaching grow exponentially.
“We hold a deep desire to instill value in the students we have the honor of teaching. In a time where isolation, anxiety, and depression pose as ever increasing challenges to our young people, music reminds us that we are creations mirror. When we give someone the opportunity to explore music, we give them the opportunity to discover that they were pieced together with purpose, and so we are intent on creating a space that speaks into the value of each student. Not value in accomplishment, but where self-worth is spoken into more ardently in stillness, in simplicity, and in the foundation of home. Born from these moments, our inherent value is rightly and beautifully measured and this truth-filled assurance comes to life: “For you are worth more than many sparrows.”
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
